It's not like Danny doesn't go out to dinners with Steve. They have dates. They definitely have dates and Danny enjoys them, a lot. The thing is, Danny's pretty used to wearing nice clothes on a daily basis, so when he's meant to get really dressed up, he's not sure how to do it well, since the last few times he's tried, he's been mistaken for a waiter. It's what's led him to being in nothing but his boxer shorts by the clothing box, arms wide and on display for Rachel.

"You know," he points out. "I'm still not sure what your boyfriend thinks of me, so I don't even know what he'd think about this scene right here, you and I," he says, gesturing between them.
